About Artwork:
While painting this, the words "Prince of Peace" and "Man of sorrows" kept coming to me. These 2 statements seem contradictory at first thought but it's not at all. He was the Man of sorrows FOR us. He took on the pain for us so God could fulfill the promise of peace to us. Now that indeed He is the leader of peace, we are assured to have this peace through Him. He is the Man of sorrows, and also the Prince of Peace.
For He says "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls" (Matthew 11:29). This painting is a reminder to keep our eyes on the Prince of Peace, and the Man of sorrows who knows the sorrows we have, that we may learn from Him.
